 Nutella Sea Salt Cookies Recipe:

1) Prepare your Nutella centres first by lining a tray with butter paper and dropping about 1 tablespoon size dollop on the tray using a piping bag or a spoon. Place the tray in the freezer to harden, at least for 1 hour, while you prepare your cookie dough.
2) Preheat the oven to 190oC and line your baking tray with butter paper.
3) Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it for about 20 seconds till it softens.
4) Add the sugar to the softened butter and mix well till the sugar melts. (Tip: Using a whisk makes it easier to combine smoothly.)
5) Add milk and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir.
6) Sift the flour, cornflour, baking powder, and baking soda into the bowl and combine well.
7) Mix in the chocolate chips.
8) Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 mins. (Tip: Chilling the dough makes it easier to work with.)
9) Remove frozen Nutella centers from the freezer and cookie dough from the refrigerator. (Tip: If at any point the Nutella becomes too sticky and hard to work with, return to the freezer for 5-10 minutes.)
10) Scoop dough using an ice-cream scoop or tablespoon, press frozen Nutella into the center, and form the dough around it completely.
11) Roll into an even ball and place on a butter-paper-lined baking tray. Repeat until all Nutella dollops are concealed in cookie dough.
12) Place cookie dough at least 2 inches apart on the tray. Freeze the entire sheet of cookie dough balls for 10-15 minutes, until they are hard to touch (this keeps the Nutella runny even after you’ve baked it). Then bake at 190oC for 8-9 minutes, or until edges are just beginning to turn golden brown. Keep an eye on your cookies as every oven is different.
13) Remove from the oven and sprinkle immediately with sea salt otherwise the salt won't stick to the cookies. Allow cookies to cool completely on the cookie sheet before removing (they'll be quite fragile when warm, but will harden as they cool).
